The lift up sides are also of the same sort of design with slam catches. All of the Caddy canopies have the same style of rear window, hinges and catches as the Razorback. The Caddy Lifestyle look similar to yours in your profile. Hope this provides those who are looking at buying a canopy a little more information.ĭusty011 Posts: 46 Joined: Sat, 1:00 +0000 Location: Melbourne, VICĭusty011, I think you have made an excellent choice! The Razorback canopy is the brand Uemart sell.

I will give you an update once I have tested in the real world on outback roads.įor anyone interested in Sports Range canopies, you can view them on this site Razorback uses a completely different, rigid door assembly which shuts like a car door. ARB, TJM use a different rear door assembly but are not as nice and have other problems as per earlier posts Caddy, Carryboy, Sports Range 4x4 (the one I had), Alpha, Flexiglass all use same or very simillar rear door assembly. So, if anyone is thinking of purchasing a new canopy here are some of the things I discovered:

I will post up some pictures as soon as I get it installed. I decided to replace it, and after some prolonged research, homed in on Razorback canopy which is made out of steel and the rear door is made just like that of a car itself, with proper hinges and door locking mechanism.

Also, the hinges, which sit hard agaist the glass made a slight crack in the rear window from all the vibrations, leading to rear window shattering just yesterday. The main problem was the rear door locking mechanism, which came loose on more then one occasion and made it very hard to open the door.īefore my next trip and tried to tighten everything up and put some locktite, however this did not help, the door handle came loose again. I was told only ARB and Flexiglass are made in NZ.Īfter my Simpson desert trip, I found that these type of canopies (even though they look great), don't last on outback corrugated roads. About year and half ago, I purchased a canopy which is very simillar to Carryboy (you can see in my profile, same door handle, hinges, latch, rear door) and discovered that most of those canopies come out of the same factory in Thailand. I just thought I'd put my two cents worth regarding Carryboy style canopy. Sealed the deal today, waiting for stock out of Sydney. $2895 sounds dear, but $5 different in price from the Flexiglass once roof bars added.

Nearly chose the no window version, but paid extra $200 for glass windows just for looks. But Scratched i tin favour of their Workstyle canopy. Preferred it over Utemart, better sliding windows, could open them from outside. Their Lifestyle canopy was a fibreglass version of the Utemart ones. Coming back from looking for them, I found: Never seen on display in Autopro, on fell apart north of Cairns according to a member here. Wen looking for them but address on their web site was wrong. Also was concerned that the sliding windows was an odd shape and would rattle if left open a bit for dust. Would need a bar on the car to carry my Oz Tent. Looks fantastic, but did not like the sports rail roof bar.

The canopy has cracked right through Scratched that one.įond on this forum. Stayed in the running.Ī mate of my brother's at Cunnamulla who lives 150km from town on dirt roads has one on his Hilux.

A little bit dearer but have frame around windows and could not find one negative thread anywhere. Only 20 minutes away and been there 50 years. Then sure enough, everybody said the glass was falling out of the windows! - Scratched that one. My first choice but got turned off a bit as was worried the frameless windows would be a problem. I thought I would put a thread together about the various options I looked at before ordering a canopy like this one today:
